On June 11, 2024, Oprah Winfrey was supposed to make an appearance on the TV show “CBS Mornings,” co-hosted by her best friend, Gail King. However, to everyone’s surprise, Winfrey was a no-show for the TV spot. King revealed that Winfrey had been hospitalized due to dehydration. Apparently, she had been dealing with a stomach flu, causing her to experience uncomfortable symptoms. Fans may recognize Wroblewski’s name from his 2008 book club pick, “The Story of Edgar Sawtelle.” Winfrey revealed that “Familiaris” serves as a follow-up to that epic novel, exploring the origin story of the Sawtelle family and their legendary dogs. She described the book as a captivating family saga, skillfully intertwining history, philosophy, adventure, and mysticism to delve into the deep meaning of love, friendship, and fulfilling one’s life purpose.Interestingly, Winfrey mentioned that it’s not necessary to have read “The Story of Edgar Sawtelle” beforehand in order to enjoy and understand “Familiaris.” However, she believes that if you haven’t read the first book, you’ll likely want to after experiencing the sequel.Now, one might wonder if Winfrey will be upset with King for sharing details about her health situation on “CBS Mornings.” Given their close friendship, it’s unlikely that Winfrey would hold any grudges. In fact, she probably appreciates King’s concern and transparency about the situation. It’s evident that Winfrey’s health is a top priority, and she surely understands the importance of taking care of oneself.
